The Battle is the LORD'S
The Battle is the LORD's
Text: Joshua 6:1–10
How do you face a battle that seems impossible to win?
Before the walls of Jericho ever fell, Joshua first surrendered to the captain of the LORD's host. Only then did the lord reveal his battle plan. Human reasoning would have called for ladders, battering rams, and military strategy, but God called for faith, obedience, silence, and patience.
This message examines how the Lord encouraged Joshua before the battle began and reminds believers today that victory is not found in our strength but in trusting and obeying the Lord. Just as David declared before facing Goliath, "the battle is the LORD'S" (1 Samuel 17:47), Joshua learned the same truth while standing before the towering walls of Jericho.
In this message, we will consider:
Jericho's resolve
Jehovah's reinforcement
Joshua's response
If you're facing an impossible battle, this study will encourage you to keep marching, keep trusting, and keep obeying until the lord brings the victory.
