·       Job 19:7; 35:9

·       Joseph cried (Genesis 45:1)

·       Jonah cried (Jonah 2:2)

·       Jesus cried (John 11:35)

2. Call Jesus – Romans 10:13

·       Our tears must become a specific call for rescue.

·       Psalms 4:3; Jeremiah 33:3

3. Consider Him – Hebrews 12:3

·       Consider Jesus in your suffering.

·       Hebrews 3:1; 12:1-3; 1 Peter 4:1-2

4. Confess Sins & Faults

·       We need to confess what has caused our trouble.

·       1 John 1:9; James 5:6

·       Reconciliation: Romans 5:10; Matthew 5:24

5. Commit Your Works & Ways

·       Commit to the Lord for his use & yield to God’s direction.

·       Proverbs 16:3; Psalms 37:5

6. Cast Down Imaginations

·       Establishing the Right Mindset

·       2 Corinthians 10:5

·       Toeholds gradually become strongholds the longer you resist God and his word.

7. Continue in Grace – Acts 13:43

·       You need God’s grace to continue

·       Continue in: Prayer (Col. 4:2), Faith (Col. 1:23), Doctrine (1 Tim. 4:16), Sobriety (1 Timothy 2:15), Learning (2 Timothy 3:14), God’s goodness (Romans 11:22)

8. Comfort Others – 1 Thess. 5:11

·       Encourage others as you’ve been encouraged.

·       2 Corinthians 1:3-7; 1 Thessalonians 4:18

9. Cry with Others – Romans 12:15

·       Be willing to go through others’ grief with them.

·       This is Christlike compassion.
