The Hope of Glory
The Mystery of the Indwelling Christ: The Hope of Glory
📖 Colossians 1:26–27
What does it mean when the Bible declares, “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27)?
This message explores the present reality and future promise of the believer’s hope—rooted not in circumstances, but in the indwelling Christ Himself. Because Christ lives in the believer, our hope is not uncertain or distant—it is living, personal, and glorious.
In this study, we consider three powerful aspects of this hope revealed in Scripture. First, it is a Patient Hope (Romans 8:9–11). The same Spirit that raised up Jesus Christ from the dead now dwells in believers, assuring us that even though the body is mortal, resurrection life is guaranteed. The Christian’s hope is anchored in the promise that what God has begun in us will be completed in glory.
Second, it is a Praying Hope (Romans 8:22–25). While the whole creation groans under the weight of sin and corruption, believers wait with expectation for the redemption of the body. This waiting is not passive—it is spiritual, prayerful, and confident. Our hope strengthens us to endure present suffering while anticipating future transformation.
Finally, it is a Precious Hope (Titus 2:13). The believer is watching for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. This hope purifies our walk, steadies our heart, and lifts our eyes toward heaven as we await His return.
If Christ is in you, then glory is before you. This message is a reminder that even in a world filled with turmoil, sorrow, and uncertainty, the believer possesses an unshakable and everlasting hope, the Hope of Glory. ✨📖🌍
