Is the church already married to Christ, or only espoused to Him?

In this study, we examine the biblical distinction between the present espousal of the church and the future marriage of the Lamb (Revelation 19:7–8).

Scripture shows that believers today are called a chaste virgin espoused to Christ (2 Corinthians 11:2), actively united with the Spirit in message and ministry as we proclaim, “Come” (Revelation 22:17).

This lesson also explores how the voice of the bride is removed at the rapture (Jeremiah 7:34; 16:9; 25:10) and returns again with rejoicing at the Second Advent (Jeremiah 33:7–11; Joel 2:15–16).

Understanding the difference between espousal and marriage helps clarify the church’s present mission, prophetic identity, and future hope with Christ.
