Mystery of Iniquity (Part 1)
The Mystery of Iniquity | 2 Thessalonians 2:7
In this study, we examine the biblical doctrine of the mystery of iniquity—a hidden work of Satan that has been operating throughout history and will ultimately culminate in the revealing of the man of sin, the son of perdition. While many are familiar with the future Antichrist, Scripture teaches that the spirit behind him has already been active since the beginning and has manifested itself repeatedly through rulers who opposed God’s people, resisted truth, and sought global authority apart from the Lord.
This lesson also explores the connection between the mystery of iniquity and the mystery of godliness (1 Timothy 3:16), showing how Satan’s program operates as a counterfeit kingdom that imitates, opposes, and attempts to replace the work of God manifest in Jesus Christ. Just as Christ was revealed as the Son of God and Son of man, the final Antichrist will be revealed as the man of sin and the son of perdition.
